強調構文（準備中）

□強調構文とは？

まずは、簡単な問題。下の文のそれぞれの箇所を強調する文を作りなさい。

一般に、上記のように It is ... that という構造で、ここから It is that を取ってしまっても、文として成立するなら、いわゆる強調構文（または、分裂文）ということができます。この文は、これにあてはまるので、強調構文です。
元々の文で強調したいところ（スポットライトを当てたいところ）、たとえば、Aだとすると、

It is A that ...

という枠の中に入れる言い方です。
形としては、以下のようなバリエーションがあります。
It is (was) A that (who, which, etc) ...
で、A の位置には、[名詞]か＜副詞＞が入ります。
※[名詞]=名詞、名詞句、名詞節　＜副詞＞=副詞、副詞句、副詞節
だから、訳し方としては、
□ ...なのは、（まさしく）Aである。
It was only after midnight that we went to bed.
（やっと私たちが眠ったのは真夜中をすぎてからのことでした）
とか、後ろから前に訳さないで、英語の語順どおりに、
□ Aこそ、...なのである。
It is necessity that is the mother of invention.
（必要こそが発明の母である）
などと訳すことができます。

まずは、簡単な例文を使って強調構文（または、少し専門的な参考書では、分裂文という言葉をつかっていますが）を復習しておきましょう。
(1)John (2)broke (3)the vase (4)yesterday.
という文があった場合、文中の下線部の単語を強調することができます。

(1) It was John who broke the vase yesterday.
(2) John did break the vase yesteday.
(3) It was the vase that John broke yesterday.
(4) It was yesterday that John broke the vase.

次の文の It is ～ that と同じ用法の It is ～ that を選びなさい。
It is thoe bodies after all, that carry them across all those miles and bring them all the pleasant experiences.　[京都女子大]
(1)It may be inevitable that those errors will be taken for mine.
(2)It can be my own carelessness that has made those errors inevitable.
(3)It was inevitable to conclude that those were my own errors.
(4)It was on the foggy day that those errors were inevitable.
