の問題で

　John's words were not true.　
A.I couldn't see through his lie after all.　
　John was looking for a job.　
　John stated that he learned how to get a teaching job.　

の答えになることがわからないのですが、うちの学校の先生でもわからないと言っていました。誰か解説お願いします

■訳: 昨日の午後、ジョンに会ったとき、彼は、教師の仕事を探しているんだと言っていた。（しかし）ぼくは、後で、そうでないことがわかった。
■解説■
(1)John was looking for a job.
仕事を探していると言っていたが、実は探してなかったので×。
☆(2)John's words were not true.
仕事を探していると言っていたが、後でそれが嘘だとわかったので○。
(3)I couldn't see through his lie after all.
結局のところ、彼の嘘を見破れなかった、のではなく、後で、わかったとあるので、×。
(4)John stated that he learned how to get a teaching job.
本文に書いていないので、×。
