Dear Students,
I am an Australian high school student. I have just heard that I have been chosen to spend a year in your high school class from April 2005. I am really happy to be coming to Japan, but I am also a little nervous. In Australia we study Japanese but I am not very good at it. I don't know much about living in Japan either. I am hoping to live with a Japanese family.
I would like to know something about life for teenagers in Japan. How long is the school day? Do you get a lot of homework? Are there a lot of school rules? What kind of clubs are there for me to join? I am really looking forward to receiving your advice.
